Flora and Fauna:

Many waterfowl, song birds and deer share our "little piece of paradise". Spring is a busy time around the lake as the hummingbirds and swallows return to nest. Many species of songbirds can be heard as well as the nightly frog chorus.

Overhead, bald eagles, osprey and turkey vultures soar in the up drafts.

Beginning in late April, the black-tailed deer fawns are born and the deer family dynamics are a joy to observe.

Sorry, because of the deer we cannot take dogs.

The Garden
Birds, butterflies and guests all enjoy the changing faces of our garden which has roses, rhododendrons, dahlias, clematis, fruit trees, spring bulbs, and many other plants. The hammock, gazebo or the grape-vine covered pergola are shady spots which provide welcome shade on the hottest days of summer.
